What Is The Transient Load Performance Of The Motor?

When the motor is operating, its original KVA (operating KVA) exceeds its operating KVA. This is because of the raw surge voltage required to start the motor. The original load requirements are higher, which in turn causes the terminal voltage to drop sharply.

The transient response and recovery period of the diesel generator indicate that when the output load suddenly changes, the power supply voltage regulator circuit recovers the voltage level. There are two main parameters to calibrate the transient response and repair of the switching power supply: one is to output the deviation value when the load suddenly changes; the other is to derive the time taken to restore the original value to normal. For uniformity, generally when the load changes by 10%, use the milli-optimal calibration of the derived offset maximum voltage to calibrate the derived offset, and use the derived return to normal standard value to calibrate the recovery period using microvolts. There are other manufacturers that measure the recovery period with more load current transitions. The time to repair the standard value is also used when the output current fluctuates from 50% to 100%.

According to the data test, the internal load capacity of the evaluation system is evaluated, and the performance analysis is carried out according to the conclusion of the appraisal, which provides a reference for improving the characteristics of diesel generators again.

The load transient response characteristic is to guide the response speed before the derived voltage returns to the preset value when the load current changes greatly. In addition to the derived capacitance value (power capacitor) or ESR (equivalent circuit series resistance), its own characteristics are also indispensable factors, and it is a particularly good method for load transient response characteristics.

As one of the load changes, the transient change is the same as the linear adjustment, and the load adjustment is for the characteristics of the non-transient situation. For the load transient, we must also consider the characteristics of the load transient response.

When the motor is operating in DC, the voltage will fluctuate greatly under the premise of a huge increase in current. The magnitude of the voltage reduction will depend on the actual power of the starter motor and the volume of the distribution network. The voltage reduction will also lead to voltage-sensitive mechanical faults in the same power supply system network. Gradual operation at zero voltage minimizes the voltage drop.

Know the allowable voltage drop and operating frequency drop. We all know that when the motor is running automatically, there will be 3 to 10 times the starting current, that is, the diesel generator will bear 3 to 10 times the load after the normal operation of the motor when the motor is running. When carrying out the selection of diesel generator models, it should be selected that the running volume of the diesel generator exceeds the load when the motor is running.

Running an AC motor across a line can be very costly to the power supply and distribution system and can cause a sharp drop in voltage. Sensitive equipment such as computers and sensors will trip when large electric motors are running. The AC drive clears the voltage sag by cutting off the motor switching power supply rather than tripping.

The starting voltage setting must be valid, so that the motor can immediately generate a sufficient starting torque. If the original voltage is too high, the motor will be impacted by the motor torque, and there will be damage to mechanical parts; if the original voltage is too low, the motor torque of the motor is insufficient, and the In the case of time, increase the motor heat.

Know the allowable voltage drop and operating frequency drop. We all know that when the motor is running automatically, there will be 3 to 10 times the starting current, that is, the diesel generator will bear 3 to 10 times the load after the normal operation of the motor when the motor is running. When selecting a diesel generator model, the operating volume should be selected to exceed the load when the motor is running.

Generally speaking, a sharp drop in voltage of more than 25% will also cause the generator set to stop/shut down, thus becoming a key factor that should be considered. Generator sets have special operating voltage characteristics that must be considered.

Use various startup methods in your application to reduce KVA. Each has its own performance characteristics and relevant technical data are available from the manufacturer.
